Shadow Lane

Shadow Lane is a 2D tap/point and click, age appropriate, Kids Adventure game set in a whimsical, yet enchanting story world where little adventurers can embrace their love of nature. The world, with its distinct art style, is full of embedded side quests, delightful mini-games, and interactive toys.The narrative, games/mechanics, and interactions are all designed to serve and focus on building a child’s executive functioning skills from ages 5-7.

Shadow Lane is a narrative adventure game that was born out of our hopes, wishes, and even frustrations, in finding an engaging gaming experience that supports the philosophy in children’s educational media that if you lead with fun and the learning will follow.

The Story

Join a group of curious friends, hanging out and feeling bored one afternoon. Little do they know that they are about to embark on a journey down the mysterious Shadow Lane where things aren’t always what they seem. We delve into elements of the natural world sprinkled with whimsy, our friends will learn that there is more out there than what you see at first glance. By exploring this environment, they’ll uncover mossy stones (and the things that live around them), archways of twisted vines, interesting little critters, bugs, bogs, stars, and more.Shadow Lane, a place that might first be viewed as a boring and ordinary laneway, is home to many mysteries. Our little adventurers will discover a secret forest and creek that are nestled in just behind the lane, and a little further down, abandoned-looking buildings that surprisingly house an insectarium and planetarium for those adventurers who dare enter. A map of our Shadow Lane universe will be created during concept definition.
